Russ Ortiz completed the game without help from the bullpen and Magglio
Ordonez blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Concord Grape defeated the
Mississippi Big Orange 7 to 3 at Barkley Stadium.

Concord came up with 4 runs in the top of the 4th inning when they had 4 base
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Aaron Boone who quieted the
home crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger (his 1st of the season).  Concord
totaled 10 on the night.  

The win was credited to Ortiz(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 3 runs.
Jason Johnson(0-1) took the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs
in 4 and 2/3 innings.
